Meet Carlos Perez, Lead Data Platform Engineer at Tala! Carlos designs, implements, and maintains pipelines and data storage that provide the data science and machine learning engineering teams with the data they require to craft new models and score existing ones.

How did you get into engineering?
I love solving problems. In software engineering, we get the chance to quickly and very efficiently iterate on our solutions and perfect them, improving our craft.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Advocating for change and then making it happen! At Tala, I have a direct impact on enabling access, choice, and control for our customers.
What advice do you have for someone trying to get into engineering at a mission-driven company?
Mission-driven means that we take our shared humanity to the workplace. So, loosen up and enjoy the interviews.
